Care Instructions
abro leather goods are crafted from carefully selected materials using precise craftsmanship. As a natural material, leather responds to external influences and develops an individual patina over time, enhancing the unique character of each product.
To preserve the appearance, texture, and structure of the materials for years to come, proper handling and care are essential. The following guidelines provide recommendations for the correct cleaning and protection of the various material qualities.
1. General Care and Handling Guidelines
These fundamental principles apply to almost the entire collection and help ensure the longevity of your product:
Preparation: Before applying any care product, make sure the item is completely dry and free from surface dirt. For regular care, use a soft, dry cloth.
Care products: Use only high-quality leather creams made with natural ingredients. Always apply them sparingly to avoid unwanted stains or marks.
Substances to avoid: Never use aggressive solvents such as acetone, stain removers, or nail polish remover, as these can permanently damage and remove the leather's colour finish.
Light & moisture: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as it may cause the leather to dry out or fade. Likewise, protect the product from excessive moisture. If the item becomes wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.
Storage: When not in use, always store your bags and belts in the original abro dust bag provided. This protects the material from dust and prevents contact with dark or colour-transferring objects.
2. Material-Specific Care Instructions

4. Immediate Action in Case of Stains
Should your product become stained despite all precautions, acting quickly and appropriately is essential.
Action for Grease and Oil Stains
Liquid or greasy substances should never be rubbed with water or soapy water, as this will drive the particles deeper into the fine pores of the leather.
Application: Immediately cover the affected area generously with fine flour or baking powder.
Effect: Leave the absorbent material on the stain for several hours – ideally overnight – to allow it to draw the grease or oil out of the leather.
Removal: Afterwards, gently brush off the powder with a soft brush or remove it carefully while dry.
